In my studio, students sing, explore the keyboard, develop rhythm, create their own musical ideas, and learn to read music. Each experience helps them connect what they hear with what they play—and gives them more ways to enjoy making music.
How We LearnI’m Abby Eger. For more than 24 years, I’ve helped students discover what they can do at the piano.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Piano Pedagogy and a master’s degree in Piano Performance. My teaching brings that foundation together with Music Learning Theory and Music Moves for Piano, an approach that develops musical understanding through listening, movement, and exploration.
I enjoy getting to know each student—their interests, their questions, and the way they learn—and helping them take their next step.

No prior experience is needed. I welcome beginners from about age 4 and build lessons around each student’s readiness and stage of development.
Yes. Listening, rhythm, keyboard skills, and reading develop together. Students encounter notation early and build toward independent reading by connecting written patterns with music they already understand.
For young beginners, practice includes listening and short, frequent visits to the piano. As students grow, practice becomes more structured, with guidance on what to work on and how.
Absolutely. You’re welcome whether you’ve never played, took lessons years ago, or already play and want to develop new skills.
